Japanese Rice Japonica

Rice is the main resource engaging with Asian cultures. There are 02 main kinds of rice in the world: long-grained Indica and round-grained Japonica. Different from Indica, Japonica rice is round-grained, soft when cooked due to low amylase content and containing amylopectin. After fully cooked, the rice looks cotton-white, fully rounded like pearls.

Japonica contains many antioxydants and enriched minerals as magnesium, selenium helpful to create more energy from protein and starch, supporting the immunity system and balancing the blood sugar, good for the people suffered from asthma, low blood pressure, reducing risks of heart-attack, cancer, liver disease, promoting the process of metabolism, strengthening body resistance and preserving health of neural and skeletal systems.

Vinaseed now is developing and building value chains of Japonica production in 10 provinces of Red River Delta and Northern mountainous midlands according to the business production project in combination with Vinaseed, SNV Netherlands Development Organisation and Vietnam Business Challenge Fund VBCF with a capital investment over 34 billion vnd, attracting many people to participate from breeding to production steps and procurement of cargo rice. Benefited from the project, people can increase 30-60% of income; enhancing production level; being breeding trained and forming villages of farming production technologies. The project contributes to develop the Japonica rice production industry together with the corporate value chain, promoting Vietnam rice brand and position.
